Seattle is a big city. It is located in Washington state. City officials in Seattle  decided to make a new tax.Sodas will be taxed. So will sports drinks and energy drinks. Tax Could Help People Get Healthy Food.The tax could bring in a lot of money.The money could help people in Seattle get healthy food. It could be used for healthy eating programs, too. These could teach people how to eat better.Sugary drinks aren't healthy. They can make you weigh too much. Too much sugar can cause health problems. Many people think the tax will help. With the tax, drinks will cost more.Some People Think The Tax Is Unfair.Some people do not like the tax. The tax will mostly harm people who do not have much money, they say. Some also think it is unfair to tax just one kind of food. There are many unhealthy foods.Others think the tax will hurt businesses. Stores will have to pay more for sugary drinks. They might have to cut costs somewhere else. For example, they might fire workers.
